Businessman. Worked as a telegrapher in Bovina, Texas, and as a station agent for the Pecos Valley Railroad. Invested in a general mercantile store in Amarillo, Texas, owned by his brother-in-law, E. W. White, then became general manager of the White & Kirk Company in 1908, which was a leading retail outlet in Amarillo through the 1940s. Joe A. Bailey was born on January 30, 1924, and served in the U. S. Army as a Tech 4 during World War II. He corresponded with his mother during that time. He married his wife Francis in 1952. Joe A. Began in the 1890s as a grocery store in Amarillo, Texas, by Dr. M. W. Cunningham. Bought out by his partner, E. W. White, in 1896, and expanded into a general mercantile. His brother-in-law, R. D.
